Now that Disney has discontinued its complimentary Magical Express shuttles to and from the Orlando International Airport, guests are now left to book their own means of transportation. Obviously we’re looking for the most efficient and economical solutions; a Disney vacation is already complex enough to plan! Besides using App’s like Uber or Lyft, there are 2 new services designed especially with Disney guests in mind. Which option is right for your family? Let’s break them down!

The Sunshine Flyer is up first! These buses, designed on the outside to resemble railway cars from the 1920’s, are a great way to make your trip to and from the airport fun! Drivers and crew members are dressed in period costumes to really make your time onboard an experience to enjoy! The Sunshine Flyer will be available to guests starting on February 1st, 2022, and is now open for booking! Simply visit this website, input your booking & flight details and select the hours in which you land and depart. The Sunshine Flyer will provide you with pick-up times and locations to meet your bus! Each bus is equipped with entertainment, restrooms, and seatbelts. Their site also guarantees you no longer than a 20-minute wait to board your bus after check-in! Here are the pricing details!

Next up, we have the Mears Connect service which is available now to Disney guests! Mears Connect offers customers 2 different booking options, so let’s hash out the differences.
Standard Service: A shared ride service aboard a bus/van/etc. that will make a limited number of stops on the way to your Disney resort. Guests are guaranteed to be on their way within 20 mins of checking in at the reception desk.
Express Service: A direct service to your destination, with no stops along the way. Guests are guaranteed little to no wait time for departure. NOTE: Guests could be transported in a smaller vehicle than a typical bus, but are not guaranteed privacy; chances are you will still be sharing your shuttle with at least one other party.
To book either of these 2 services, visit this website, select Standard or Express, input your booking details and you’re all set! Here is the pricing breakdown for both options!

Neither of these companies currently offer a luggage service, however both state that it could be a possibility in the future! I have not used either of these services yet, but I do plan to test out The Sunshine Flyer first! The 1920’s concept sounds fun to me, and I’d like to see how it works! I will be sure to update you when I have personally experienced these new shuttle services! Which one sounds like the right fit for you? Be sure to let me know about your experiences when you travel to Orlando next time!
